It is a cozy place, flanked by secular buildings of architectural and cultural interest, such as the Town Hall, the Main Church, the Fountain and the Prision Building. The Prision Building houses the Tourism Office and a promotion room of local products on the ground floor, and the Interpretation Centre of Local Culture, which is a multi-functional and adaptable space, allowing temporary exhibitions, seminars, conferences, among other activities, on the first floor. Arts, crafts and traditions of this county, are permanently exhibited. The statue of the first Earl of Castelo de Paiva, Dom Martinho Pinto Lencastre de Bulhões, can be seen in the midlle of Largo do Conde square.
