In 1990, the parish of Alvito S. Pedro created a public collection, designated as Regional and Ethnographic Museum of Alvito S. Pedro to preserve the cultural heritage. Nowadays this parish and the Instituto Português da Juventude develop a campaign of awareness and gathering of pieces, that most of the times is undervalued. After being collected, they are cleaned, treated, catalogued and inventoried. Each piece has a card with its description, where it is registered the name of the donor.
