The horse is an ícon of rurality, it represents a economical resource to the region and motivated the municipality to organize an Horse Fair, which is one of the largest events of its type held in Portugal. Breds from many different regions and renowned riders usually come to this event,which transforms the Expolima area in Ponte de Lima into a giant open-air stable, near of the Lima river. Each year,to the rhythms of popular music and revelry, this big event happens in the 3rd weekend of june.
