Negrilho (Black Poplar)

Sabrosa
Description
The black poplar is located in the center of S. Martinho de Anta. It was named "Agarez" in "A Criação do Mundo” (The Creation of the World) by Miguel Torga, being now reduced to a minimal expression of its former glory. It had a strong influence on the writer, having numerous references of it in his work. The black poplar was an inspiration and a telluric force to Miguel Torga, who compared it with a poet and a protecting father.
