Pillory of Souto

Penedono
Description

18th century. It represents the administrative and judicial independence that the Municipality of Souto once had.

This is a "Pinecone" type Pillory with four squared steps, the lower being incomplete due to the unevenness of the pavement of the square. It has three round cavities and a square one, an octagonal shaft with lower shaping and the pyramid end with a rudimentary squared basis. The polygonal bar is about three meters high, with an unfolded hole on one side less than a meter high.
