The Serra do Gerês is the second largest elevation of Portugal Continental. The peak reaches 1546 meters above sea level, according to the Geographic Institute Army Page. Forms part of the Peneda-Gerês mountain scheme. The mountainous region of received its official in 1514, by Dom Manuel I. Gerês is certainly one of the most amazing tourist attractions in Portugal, combining the most fantastic purity of the natural world offering great moments of leisure and fun.
