In the center of Gaia, we find the house and studio of Master António Teixeira Lopes (1886-1942), one of the greatest Portuguese sculptors of all times. Apart from the surprising artistic production of the Master, this space houses a rich collection of Decorative Arts (with collections of furniture, ceramics, textiles, glass, jewelry, etc) and a significant core of Portuguese paintings with works by Alfredo Keil, Domingos Sequeira, José Malhoa, Silva Porto among others.
The permanent exhibition patent in the galleries presents to the public the work of the sculptor Diogo de Macedo (1889-1959) that includes his sculptural works as well as his production in the field of drawing and painting. Diogo de Macedo reunited throughout his life an extraordinary art collection. We enhance this valuable collection, a collection of Black Art and the core Modernist Paintings where we find paintings of Almada Negreiros, Amadeo Souza – Cardoso, Carlos Botelho, Júlio Pomar, Mário Eloy among others.
