CHAMOA

Santa Maria da Feira
Description / Facilities

This history of this beverage is quite old, and it was inspired by episodes of the life of Châmoa Gomes, mistress of Afonso Henriques, who lived in the castle of Feira. The idea of reintroducing this very authentic and typical nectar was born in 2013. Chamoa started being served as wine, with a blackberry inside, preferentially to women, at the end of meals. Today it is available both as a liqueur and as wine. The fame of this beverage spread in such a way that it became part of the everyday lives of the folks of Santa Maria da Feira, and is also a must in official receptions and when welcoming tourists and visitors.
