Featuring free WiFi all over the house and a sun terrace, Hostel Carvalho offers accommodation in the centre of Mondim de Basto. In the morning, we provide free breakfast to all our guests. There is also free coffe and tea all day long. There is one fully-equipped kitchen in the Hostel that you can use every time you want as well as one common room. You will find a 24-hour front desk at the property. You’re welcome anytime and, on the day of your departure, you can leave your luggage in our baggage room after check-out if you want.

There is one café and one minimarket by the Hostel, but many restaurants, cafes, ATM machines, supermarkets are placed just within 3 minutes’ walk. In addition, we are in front of the Municipal Graden and Park of our town as well as just a few minutes away from Capela do Senhor. Furthermore, the city of Porto is just 90 km away, meanwhile other important cities of Northern Portugal such as Braga, Guimaraes or Vila Real are around one hour away by car.

Each room is provided with a private bathroom and free toiletries. Certain ones include a spa bath, while others also have a hairdryer. Certain units feature a seating area for your convenience. A TV is provided and air conditioning is available in all rooms. Fresh linen and towels are also included. The hostel also offers free use of bicycles, that you can use to visit not only our beautiful natural landscapes but also Mondim de Basto’s urban areas. We are best known for our landscapes and if you are coming to Mondim de Basto for the first time be sure to keep an eye on “Senhora da Graça” mountain, which provides astonishing views from the top, and also “Fisgas de Ermelo” waterfalls, one of the greatest waterfalls in Portugal, which lies in the small neighbouring town of Ermelo, within Alvão National Park. You can also enjoy our relaxed urban areas, visit and walk around the old town or taste some of our well-known regional dishes at the local restaurants nearby.
