Costa and the ministers of economy and of planning and infrastructure, Manuel Caldeira Cabral and Pedro Marques, are among members of the government who are to attend the ceremony at 5pm at a 16th-century palace in Évora. Prior to the event the prime minister is also to visit the aeronautics technology unit of the city's Centre for Employment and Professional Training, and then Embraer Portugal. For Mecachrome Aeronáutica, Fernando Arteiro told Lusa that the signing of the contract is “an important step” to make the new unit viable but did not reveal the amount of any subsidy involved. Work on the new plant started at the end of the year he added. The €30-million plant is to cover almost 22000 square metres in the Évora's Aeronautics Industry Park, and is being built in two phases. Production is to start at the end of this year. Mecachrome specialises in the production of high-precision pieces for the aeronautics space and automotive industries. It has 14 factories in five countries, and serves clients that include Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, Safran, Porsche, among others. JF/ARO // ARO. Lusa
